African Development Bank appoints Mr. Ifechukwude Emmanuel Ezinwa (SACU 1985 Set) as Acting Director of Human Resources

Effective July 1, 2022, Mr. Ifechukwude Emmanuel Ezinwa has been named by the African Development Bank Group as the Acting Director of the Human Resources Operations, Recruitment, and Client Services Department.

Currently serving as Manager of the Human Resources, Client Relations, and Staff Engagement Division, Mr. Ezinwa is a native of Nigeria. With extensive worldwide experience in both the private sector and multilateral development institutions, he is a seasoned personnel management professional.

As a Lead HR Operations Advisor, he started working for the African Development Bank in 2017. Furthermore, he actively contributed to the writing of the Bank's 2019 General Capital Increase's personnel management sections.

As a key component of the Bank's People Strategy execution plan, Mr. Ezinwa has been directing the implementation of several people management initiatives and changes in his role as Division Manager for Client Relations and Staff Engagement, which he has held since January 2021.

Before coming to the Bank, Mr. Ezinwa was employed by the World Bank's Human Resources Vice Presidency from 2008 to 2012 as a Regional Human Resources Business Partner and from 2012 to 2017 as a Senior Regional Human Resources Business Partner for the Africa Region. Mr. Ezinwa was employed by Nestle Central and West Africa from 2003 until 2007. He had a number of responsibilities, including Assistant Human Resources Development Manager.

Mr. Ezinwa graduated from Lagos State University with a master's degree in international law and diplomacy and the University of Benin with a bachelor's degree in French. He has participated in many training and accreditation courses, such as those offered by Wharton Business School and Lagos Business School.

African Development Bank Group President, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, said: “Ifechukwude has solid knowledge and hands-on experience in people management and he will provide the leadership that this critical function needs at the Bank during this transition period.”

Mr. Ezinwa said: “I would like to thank President Adesina for this appointment, which provides an opportunity to continue to drive the on-going transformation of people and talent management in line with the Bank’s strategic business direction.”

Mr. Ifechukwude Emmanuel Ezinwa is an alumnus of St. Anthony's College Ubulu Uku in Delta State. He graduated from the college in 1986 and since then, has has a successful life.
